Shortcut Chat

📄 Page-aware answers: When you send a message or tap a shortcut, Shortcut Chat reads the active tab’s page. Get summaries, explanations, and answers grounded in what you’re viewing.

🧠 General-purpose assistant: Ask about the page or ask anything else. Coding help, follow-up questions, and general chat all work in the same conversation. The AI knows about the web page you're on, but you don't have to ask something specific to the page.

📜 Conversation history: Chats are saved locally in your browser. Reopen past threads, start fresh, or delete what you no longer need. Each tab can keep its own conversation as you move between sites.

🌐 Multi-page threads: Browse to new pages mid-chat and the assistant tracks which page each message came from, so follow-ups stay in context.

🔄 Edit, retry, and stop: Edit your last message and regenerate a reply, or stop a response while it’s still generating.

⚙️ Choose your AI model: Pick from several Gemini models with your own key.

✨ Rich responses: Answers render with formatted text, code blocks, and readable markdown-style output.

🕵️‍♂️ Agentic multi-tasking: Submit a prompt, leave the tab, and the agent will continue answering. Come back whenever you want, and the LLM response will be there waiting for you. Run on multiple tabs at the same time, and a separate agent will respond for each tab.

How it works

Install Shortcut Chat and pin it to your toolbar. Click the extension icon to open the side bar on any webpage / website. Tap a shortcut or type your own question. Get an answer without leaving the page.

Conversations, shortcuts, and API keys are stored locally in your browser, and are all easily deletable. Chat requests go to Google using your Gemini API key.
