Free local on-device AI assistant in your Chrome sidebar: chat with any page, summarize, rewrite, translate and automate tasks. A free, local, on-device AI assistant for Chrome. The model runs inside your browser, so your prompts, page content and conversations never leave your computer — no API key, no account, no subscription, no external AI service.

NanoChat opens in the Chrome side panel next to the page you are reading. Ask questions about the current page, summarize an article, explain a passage, rewrite selected text or work from the page context without copying it into a separate chat. It runs on Chrome's built-in Prompt API and Gemini Nano.

Why on-device AI:

Your prompts, page context and conversations are never sent to an external AI service
Works without sign-in, account or API key
Chats are stored locally in the extension
No per-message cost and no cloud usage quota
Safe to use on pages with internal or sensitive content
