AI Bridge

HOW IT WORKS 1. Select text on any page. A small toolbox appears next to the selection with your pinned skills (Translate, English Teacher, English Improver, Summarize) and a button to open the side panel. 2. Pick a skill for an instant result, or open the side panel to chat about the selection with full context. 3. Attach images, PDFs, or a screenshot of part of the page by drag-and-drop, paste, or the capture tool.

SPOTLIGHT: SEE ONLY WHAT YOU CARE ABOUT ON FEEDS

• Tell the assistant what you want more and less of, in any language ("more AI and startups, no football"), and confirm the Interests and Muted topics it proposes — or type them by hand.
• Turn Spotlight on from the popup on any news or social feed: matching stories stay as they are, the rest are dimmed (hover to read, or hide them entirely). Keep any story with one click.
• Type a one-off criteria for the current page, switch on Strict to dim uncertain items, and pick a cheap model just for classification.
• Spotlight remembers each site: once it is on for a site, it starts by itself on that site's feed pages with your last settings until you switch it off. Results are cached, so re-running a page costs nothing.

SKILLS: REUSABLE PROMPTS THE AI PICKS FOR YOU

• A skill is a name, a description, and instructions. Pin it for a one-click button. Leave it unpinned and the assistant still applies it automatically during free chat when its description matches your request.
• Create a skill by chatting: describe what you want in a sentence, refine the draft, try it on a sample text, then save. Improve any skill the same way; the previous version is kept so you can revert.
• Variables (for example a target-language or tone dropdown) and, optionally, a dedicated model per skill.
• Four built-in skills to start: Translate, English Teacher, English Improver, Summarize.

• Hover mode: highlight any paragraph as you move the mouse and send it with one click. Toggle per website with Alt+Shift+H.
• Select mode: select text to get the toolbox. Toggle per website with Alt+Shift+W; switch both modes off to turn AI Bridge off on a site.
• Response language setting (Auto by default: replies in the language you write in).
• The side panel keeps your conversation history and can re-highlight the text a message refers to.
• Model lists refresh automatically from models.dev, so new models show up without an extension update.

PRIVACY

• Your selected text, attachments, messages, and the feed headlines Spotlight classifies go directly from your browser to the provider you chose. We never see, store, or log them.
• API keys, settings, Interests and hidden-region selectors stay in Chrome's storage on your device (synced only between your own Chrome profiles if you use Chrome sync).
• No analytics, no tracking, no data sold.

PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN WORDS

• Access to websites: to show the toolbox where you select text, to dim or hide items on feeds, to apply your hidden regions, and to capture a screenshot when you ask for one.
• Identity: used only to open the OpenRouter sign-in window. We do not read your Google or Chrome account.
• Storage, tabs, side panel, alarms: to keep your settings, relay your selection to the side panel, show the panel, and refresh the model list once a day.
