HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Install the extension and open any business listing on Google Maps. Step 2: Navigate to the Reviews tab. You'll see a "Reply" button appear next to each review. Step 3: Click "Reply" on any review. A suggestion panel slides open below it. Step 4: Choose between the Template Reply (instant) or AI Reply (takes a few seconds on first use while the model loads). Step 5: Click "Copy" and paste the reply into Google's native reply field. Edit if you want, then submit.

THE TEMPLATE SYSTEM

Templates are pre-written responses designed for each star rating:

5-star reviews - Warm thank-you messages that mention the reviewer by name and encourage them to visit again. 4-star reviews - Appreciative responses that acknowledge the positive experience while inviting feedback on what could be better. 3-star reviews - Balanced replies that thank the reviewer, acknowledge room for improvement, and express commitment to doing better. 2-star reviews - Empathetic responses that take the concern seriously, apologize where appropriate, and invite the reviewer to reach out directly. 1-star reviews - Professional, non-defensive replies that acknowledge the frustration, apologize sincerely, and offer to make things right offline.

Each template is personalized with the reviewer's name automatically. Templates are designed to sound human, not robotic. They avoid generic phrases like "We value your feedback" in favor of specific, natural language.

ON-DEVICE AI - PRIVATE, FREE, UNLIMITED

The AI reply feature runs a real language model directly in your browser. No cloud servers. No API calls. No subscriptions.

Privacy - Your customer reviews never leave your computer. The AI model runs locally using your device's GPU via WebGPU. Review text is processed in memory and discarded after the reply is generated.

Free - There are no usage limits, no token quotas, no premium tiers. Generate as many AI replies as you want.

Unlimited - Because there's no server involved, there's nothing to throttle or rate-limit. Reply to 500 reviews in a row if you need to.

The extension supports multiple model options:

• Qwen2.5 1.5B - Smaller, faster. Good for quick replies on most hardware.
• Qwen2.5 3B - Larger, more nuanced. Better for complex or sensitive reviews.
• Chrome Prompt API (Gemini Nano) - Uses Chrome's built-in AI if available. No download needed.

MODEL DOWNLOAD - ONE TIME ONLY

When you first enable the AI reply feature, the extension downloads the language model weights from Hugging Face (a public, open-source model repository). This is a one-time download:

• 1.5B model: approximately 1 GB
• 3B model: approximately 2-3 GB

After the initial download, the model is cached in your browser's local storage. You won't need to download it again unless you clear your browser data or switch to a different model size. All subsequent AI replies are generated instantly from the cached model.
