HOW IT WORKS

1. Open and sign in to grok.com. 2. Open the Grok to Markdown extension. 3. Export the active chat or opened tabs, or use Download Center for history and selective exports. 4. Choose your folder, filename, image, and attachment preferences, then download your Markdown archive.

PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS

• Downloads permission saves Markdown files and optional assets to your chosen Chrome Downloads folder.
• Grok host access finds open Grok conversations and communicates only with matching Grok tabs.
• Storage permission keeps preferences, export status, local duplicate markers, and recent run history on your device.
• When image downloads are enabled, the extension may briefly use an additional browser capability to retrieve protected Grok assets that cannot be downloaded normally. The extension asks for confirmation before using it and releases it immediately after capture.
• Conversation exports are saved locally. There is no recurring synchronization and no analytics tracking.

FREE AND PRO

Free users can export up to 5 conversations per batch. When “Skip locally downloaded conversations” is enabled, previously exported conversations are filtered before the free allowance is calculated, so repeated backups do not waste the batch limit. An active Pro plan unlocks unlimited conversations per export run.
